Law Office of Enrique Arévalo, is an office with an established practice in the area of Immigration Law. This area of the law is the only one that is practiced in the law firm. Our firm focuses on family based visas, representing immigrants facing removal from the United States, Obtaining United States Citizenship and representing employers before the Immigration authorities. ‍ Founded in 1984 by Enrique Arévalo, member of the State Bar of Montana, the law firm was originally established in the city of Los Angeles, after increasing its operations, the office moved to its present building in South Pasadena, California in 1993.

Advice and Representation

Our law office, provides personal counseling and representation in the areas deportation defense, work visas, immigrant visas, citizenship cases and provides advice and representation to companies that need guidance on immigration issues, and legal permanent resident visas at the consular level along with the applicable waivers.

Legal representation ensures that individuals have a voice in the judicial system and are afforded due process.
Employer Sanctions

Employer sanctions refer to the penalties and legal measures imposed on employers for violating laws related to employment, immigration, and labor practices. These sanctions are designed to ensure compliance with regulations governing the hiring, treatment, and payment of employees, as well as the verification of their eligibility to work legally within a country.

Deportation Defence

Our attorneys have extensive experience in the field of deportation defense, representation in court Immigration, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In this constantly changing area of law, it is very important to have competent representation, because actions in court can result in deportation and / or exclusion of individuals, termination of permanent residence status or granting legal residency or United States Citizenship.
Immigrant Visas experience

Our attorneys are aware of all aspects of the process that materializes in granting immigrant visas. These processes may include granting a visa through a family member or through an employer who is the sponsor. Our firm focuses on family visas, for victims of domestic violence.

A visa is proof of legal permanent residence status, which gives the individual the right to live and work in the United States permanently. The final interview can be conducted at a local immigration office or at a consular post outside the United States.
Citizenship and Permanent Residence Process

The office represents individuals in the citizenship process before the Immigration Authorities. Our attorneys assist individuals in familiarizing them with the interview process, the application of the law based on their case, and more importantly, the strategy to pursue during the interview in order to obtain positive results.

The Office prepares and registers the application with the Immigration Authorities, prepares and accompanies the client to the citizenship interview. Upon approval of the application, the client is called to take the oath in a separate ceremony.
Preparations To Represent

Our lawyers are trained and prepared to represent individuals in the following types of cases:

(1) Bail Reduction Hearings when the individual is arrested and in government custody;

(2) Audiences for Political Asylum Hearings;

(3) Cancelation of removal under, section (c) and §212 (h) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and United States Citizenship;

(4) Hearings of cancellation of removal;

(5) Termination of permanent legal residence

(6) Nationality issues and consular process cases for family members which include the applicable waivers. The office also provides representation in cases to be filed before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Court of Appeals of the Ninth Circuit.

Enrique Arévalo

Lawyer
Enrique Arévalo is immigration law attorney who has practiced law for more than forty-one years. His firm has produced many of the best lawyers in immigration law in Los Angeles, including an Immigration judge in Los Angeles, California and two adjunct law professors at Loyola Law School. He is an immigrant who arrived legally to this country in 1968 at the age of fourteen.

He was recently the host of the live radio show, with Univision Radio, at the KTNQ 1020 AM station, the program's title was "The Law and You", broadcasted live from Monday to Friday from 12:00PM to 1:00PM. The program was aired from April 2016 until June 2018.

Thomas Perkinson

Thomas Perkinson obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Chicago. His Juris Doctor degree is from the University of Houston Law Center. He is licensed by the State Bar of Texas. He has practiced before the various immigration agencies USCIS, CBP, ICE, and their predecessors as well as the Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (EOIR).

He has also litigated and assisted in litigating immigration cases in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Ninth, Fifth, and Eleventh Circuits, and in the United States District Courts.

Marilyn Figueroa is an immigration law attorney. She is originally from Guatemala. She belongs to a working class family. Her mother immigrated to the United States with her, when Marilyn was only four years old. She became a United States Citizen as an adult. The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) assistant helps attorneys request and receive FOIA investigation results from various government agencies such as ICE, CBP, and NRC. These FOIA results help attorneys be informed and analyze relief options for clients. As a court clerk, the legal assistant helps attorneys prepare and file formal documents in EOIR-related cases such as Cancellation of Removal, Political Asylum, or Motions to reopen among various other applications reviewed by an Immigration Judge. The Court clerk will work closely between clients and attorney to make sure the required documentation is filed with Immigration Courts or government agencies.
